Privacy policy

GoutSafe is an informational website. Accounts are optional and exist only for comments and the community. We do not sell personal data.

Information you provide. If you submit the request-a-food or contact form, we receive what you enter (such as a food name and, optionally, your email) solely to respond and to improve the database.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand which foods people look for and how the site is used, so we can improve it. These tools collect aggregated usage data (pages viewed, device type, general location) and behavior such as clicks and scrolling. Clarity may record anonymized session interactions. They may set cookies, and we do not use this data to identify you. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Affiliate links. Some outbound product links are Amazon affiliate links. Clicking them may set cookies governed by Amazon's own privacy policy.

Saved choices. Recent dishes, their selected portions and units, and your food list and sample-day shopping checkmarks are stored in this browser on this device. They aren't synced to an account. You can remove foods from your list or clear this site's browser data to remove saved choices. Decoder result links include the dish, portion and units, so sharing a link shares those inputs. We also store the last day you used each list to count return visits. These list-use events don't include food names or checklist contents.

Accounts for comments and the community. Comments on food and guide pages and the community are the one part of the site with accounts. What we store when you join or post, who can see it, that none of it is sold or shared, and how to delete all of it is in the health data notice.
